My journey back to health really began once I knew what I was dealing with. After feeling exhausted and unwell for several years, I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Disease in 2012.
Hashimoto’s Disease is an autoimmune disease which affects the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland regulates your metabolism and your hormones, and when it is not working properly, believe me, there are a whole host of symptoms. Hashimoto’s Disease was named after Dr Hashimoto who published the first description of the disease in 1912, at the young age of 31.
The problem with Hashimoto’s Disease is that apart from treating the thyroid, there is no understanding or medical advice on how to treat the plethora of other symptoms, which include joint pain, foggy brain, itchy skin, anxiety, eye problems and more.
There are however some fantastic practitioners in the United States and Europe who have discovered the benefits of a certain diet to help Hashimotos. Everyone is unique and I spent a LONG time researching this disease and how to manage it. I am happy to say that I am now thriving.
Aside from watching my diet, one of the things that has benefitted me greatly are supplements. So for anyone suffering from this disease, I’m not offering any medical advice whatsoever. I’ve absolutely no right to. All I can do is tell you what helped me, in the hope that maybe it will help you. However as we are all so different, I’m afraid it’s a case of trial and error.
What helps me is:
- A diet low in sugar.
- A diet high in fibre
- Treats only on weekends!
- 8 hours sleep a night
I also take the following supplements
- Vitamin D
- Colostrum (brilliant!)
- Glutathione (also a game changer!)
- Aquasource Blue Green Algae. I take the whole range of Aquasource products. I don’t actively sell them, but I do have a website where you can buy them if you like, so yes, I do benefit. Pity I’m not a better saleswoman!!
The link to the website is below:
If you would like any further information on how Aquasource has helped me, please get in touch. Thank you.
